Review open pass records during a drill or emergency

Authorised staff can review open pass records, selected destinations and departure times as one input to the school's established response procedures. Vero is not a GPS or emergency-management system.

The lockdown blind spot

Paper or disconnected pass processes can make current out-of-class records harder to retrieve during a drill or emergency. Vero keeps open pass records in one authorised register.

Paper sign-out sheets

Paper sign-out sheets may remain in individual classrooms, making them harder for authorised leaders to review quickly during an established emergency response.

No system at all

Without a shared pass process, leaders may need to reconstruct who left class, the recorded destination and time from separate sources.

Shared records can reduce reconstruction

During an emergency response, a shared open-pass register can reduce the need to contact multiple teachers solely to reconstruct pass information.

A supplementary list of open pass records

Vero's shared register shows each open pass record, including student name, expected destination, recorded start time and approving teacher. This is staff-created pass information, not verified physical location or a substitute for roll call.

A consistent pass record for wider review

Each teacher-created pass records the student, approving staff member, selected destination and associated times. The record can support emergency debriefs and incident reviews, but it does not prove legal compliance by itself.

Common questions

How does Vero help during a lockdown?
Vero’s shared register shows open pass records with the student name, expected destination, recorded start time and approving teacher. This supplementary list can support the school’s established emergency procedures; it does not verify a student’s physical location or replace roll call or the school’s emergency-management system.
Does Vero have a dedicated lockdown mode?
No. Vero does not have a special lockdown mode or emergency button. Authorised staff can review the existing open-pass register as one source of information within the school’s established emergency procedures.
What information does Vero provide in an emergency?
For each open pass record, Vero shows the student name, year level, approving teacher, selected destination, departure time and elapsed duration. Schools decide how authorised staff use that information within their emergency plan.
Does Vero use GPS tracking?
No. Vero records the destination selected when an authorised staff member creates a pass — such as a bathroom, office or sick bay. It does not use GPS or claim to know the student’s physical location.
How reliable is the data?
Vero data is only as current as the passes authorised staff create and end. The workflow is designed for two taps and under five seconds, but schools should account for data quality and local practice when using the open-pass register.
